Intern Position for Interior DEsign Student  – Copper Leaf Interior Design 8-28-18

Copper Leaf Interior Design Studios has an immediate opening for a paid internship for Interior Design Students.  The Intern will be working on all aspects of work in the interior design field. This will include design and CAD work as well as FFE.  Additionally, the intern will work in the showroom, interact with clients and assist with the resource library. 

 Specific tasks may include:

    • Researching and maintaining interior product knowledge
    • Supporting interior designers with project-based and administrative tasks such as researching product information, preparing pricing and creating presentation and construction documents
    • Performing product research and development by managing the extensive resource library
    • Assisting in conception and organization of customer communications and events

    Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities

      • Generating project documentation such as budgets, estimates, and purchase orders
      • Organizing, tracking and communicating multiple project updates with project team and clients
      • Creating engaging updates on social media and online forums to promote company brand, products and services
      • Maintaining showroom appearance including labeling products, answering phones, greeting visitors

Interior Designer

Copper Leaf has an opening for an Interior Designer who is a creative problem solver for real world scenarios. General Purpose

The Interior Designer is responsible for conceiving and creating multiple solutions that address the design, functional and budgetary needs of the client. This will be accomplished by:

· Preparing conceptual design ideas and diagrams, using a working knowledge of design standards and   aesthetics

· Creating construction documents, FF&E development and specification writing

· Managing project schedules on time and on budget

· Collaborating with the project team and client to ensure that the project requirements are echoed in the design and installation

· Reporting to the company President on the daily management of multiple projects

Essential functions

· Produce presentation and construction materials for client, internal staff, and construction and trade professionals

· Formulate specification and pricing documents for materials, interior furnishings and fixtures

· Visit project sites to verify and document existing conditions and to collaborate with project team

· Foster relationships with clients, vendors, and trade professionals through regular communication

· Sell products and services by initiating contact and developing relationships with prospects

· Assist in updating of design library materials

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

· Strong and varied creative portfolio

· Demonstrated ability to complete construction documentation

· Familiarity with building systems, codes and ADA requirements

· Sourcing and coordinating FF&E

· AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, 3-D rendering, Chief Architect or similar program

· Strong verbal communication and presentation skills

· Solid understanding of materials and construction processes and details

Required education and experience

Bachelor’s Degree from accredited School of Interior Design and a minimum 3 years’ experience preferred.

This position reports to the company president, and is a full-time, immediate opening with a competitive salary package.
